Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Am I Wasting Time?
Am I Wasting Time?
By Treva Susuras
I gave my testimony Sunday at church on Memorial Day and that started me thinking about the time I wasted with my son, Gordon, my daughter Dawn, my life … Those were special times and I missed them because I was living an ungodly lifestyle, caught up in addiction/ strongholds and so on...

Worrier or Warrior?
Worrier or Warrior?
Right here, right now, make a decision, am I a worrier or a warrior? As Christians, we need to figure that out. The great thing about all this is that Jesus is our leader. We either trust Him or we don’t.
A worrier us a person that thinks in some way they can make things happen in a situation, or solve their own problems, that in reality, there is nothing they can do.
When we worry it is our mind racing around searching for a solution to a problem or problems.

What the Son sets free is free indeed
Who the Son Sets Free is Free Indeed
Who the Son Sets Free is Free Indeed
By Treva Susuras
Unfortunately, we all have a past. That past hold memories that can give us joy or give us the opposite. Hurt and pain are a part of life. We all struggle at some time or another, and believe it or not our past can direct our future. How we deal with things, how we deal with other people.

Shut The Front Door
Shut The Front Door
By Treva Susuras
It seems in life that we just can’t to get it right. We worry and cry about what is happening in our lives that is wrong or even hurtful, and then we do things that will open the doors for the same thing to continue to happen.
We literally open doors that change our lives, some for the better and some for the worst.

Battle Ready!
Battle Ready!
Battle Ready!
By Treva Susuras
Battle ready, ever wonder what that really means? Well, let me tell you. There is a battle and it is going on all the time. The battle is between God and Satan. You see Satan wants your soul. We are all made up of a Spirit, a soul (mind, will and emotions) and your physical body. Satan will try and worm his way in in what ever area he can get in... But....

Chasing After The Shekinah Glory of God
Chasing After The Shekinah Glory of God
By Treva Susuras
Ever wonder what the Shekinah Glory of God is? Well shekinah is the divine presence of God, to dwell in His presence, and Glory, is to shine, give honor, or to give praise to…
What does this mean when we put it all together? It means when we worship God He will allow us to dwell in His divine presence. And There we can give Him the praise that is due Him.

Walking Through Grief
Walking Through Grief
By Treva Susuras
I have to say this last month has been one of the hardest months of my life. July is always hard because it is the month, I lost my son. Even though it has been 23 years ago the sting of losing a child never stops. You just learn to live in spite of it.
Last month my nephew Scott passed away with Covid.

Anger, The Enemy Within
Anger, The Enemy Within
By Treva Susuras
Do you struggle with anger and have no reason why? In this day and time, we all have struggles. We say things we later regret, or do things were sorry for later. We lash out at the ones we love the most and later wonder why. There are many reasons we struggle in this area...

Alone In The Fire?
Alone In The Fire?
By Jesslyn Cate
Let me tell you this year has been a trying time for me thus far. I have had issues with my health and with anxiety. Anxiety was something I thought I had been set free from a long time ago, so imagine my surprise when it came rearing its ugly head once again. I could not figure out why I was having to go through these things. Why me, God?

Safe In My Daddy's Arms
Safe In My Daddy's Arms
By Treva Susuras
Letter by Marty Murray
Were you raised with a loving father that was always there for you, protecting you, loving you, taking care of you? Did he come home every night, pay attention to you , make you feel important to him? Did you know that when you are in his arms nothing could hurt you. Did he make you feel safe? If you said yes then praise the Lord! It’s much easier to understand and accept the Heavenly Fathers love.
But if no is your answer, well neither did I...

Faith Walk
Faith Walk
By Treva Susuras
Right now, I feel like we all need a little faith. You know something we can stand on and believe in. Last year was a hard year and this year has started out pretty ruff for some. I’d like to take the time today to talk to you about faith. You know, believing in something you can’t see.

Cold Twig Or Bonfire?
Cold Twig Or Bonfire?
By Treva Susuras
Do you realize that when we lay down every piece of our lives, every piece of our hearts, God picks it up and perfects it? Romans 12:2 says to no longer conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then we will l know God’s will for us, His good, pleasing, and perfect will. Wouldn’t that be great? To know God’s will for your life?

Happy New Beginnings!
Happy New Beginnings!
By Treva Susuras
You and I have brand new beginnings. Do you need to make a change in life? Have you drifted away from God or have you been drawn in closer to Him? Right now, is a great time to reflect on last year, see the mistakes we’ve made and do things different. If we keep on doing the same thing the results we desire will never get here. We will continue to get the same results we got last year. ..

Face Your Giants
Face Your Giants
By Treva Susuras
I have had so many giants in my lifetime it would be hard to pick one. I am not talking about a giant we can see in the physical but a spiritual giant. Something that looks so big you can’t seem to get around it. Something that if when you desire to do something in your life, the giant stops you dead in your tracks...

Hope After Loss
Hope After Loss
By Treva Susuras
Today I’d like to talk a little bit about grief. No one ever wants to talk about that because it is too painful. They are correct, it is painful but if we never fight our way through our grief we will get stuck in it and it can cause all kinds of problems in our lives. It can cause us to numb out so no to feel the pain we begin to eat… comfort food… Yes, we can get addicted to food, sugar, junk food… Also, we can begin to hide our emotion in other kinds of addiction like drugs, or alcohol, gaming, porn, and so on...

Self-control is The Hardest!
Self-control is The Hardest!
By Treva Susuras
Let me let you in on a little secrete. We all have our own struggles when it comes to self-control. Galatians tells us the fruit of the spirit is Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. I would love to tell you I have it all, but that would be a lie...
I Agree
I Agree
By Treva Susuras
Do you know that whatever you agree with in your life can very well become a fact just because you came into agreement with it? The word of God tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue, so those who love it will eat of its fruit. Proverbs 18:21.
Let me remind you we have an adversary the devil. He hates you and he hates me...

Jesus is Waiting
Jesus is Waiting
By Treva Susuras
There are so many people in this world right now that are hurting, and yes this causes them to drink, do drugs, be angry, rage, and even causes panic attacks and so many other life controlling issues. Have you suffered with one of the above or even something else?
Let me tell you there is a way out of all this and that is through the promises of Jesus Christ. I am not saying if you believe (rely on, cling to, remain steadfast) in Jesus you will never suffer or have any problems again but what I am saying is that if you hang on to Him through the storm you will come out on the other side a better person. A stronger person, and the very thing the devil meant to destroy you will be the very thing that makes you stronger. You will be able to use whatever the devil throws at you to help others find truth and freedom.

What Are The Devil's Tools?
What Are The Devil's Tools?
By Treva Susuras
Yesterday, at church My pastor began his sermon with that question. What tools does the devil use to take us down? Makes sense that we would want to know that because we should know our enemy and his plans so we can divert them. His answer to that question was
1.Fear
2.Doubt
3.3 unbelief
4.Isolation
5.Lies
6.Being ignorant of God’s word
7.Unforgiveness
8.Suffering through difficult times
We today I’d like to talk about 2 of these. Isolation and doubt.

Be Happy
Be Happy
By Treva Susuras
Easy to say, but can be difficult. Happy is when things around you are going well. Happy is from the outside in not the inside out. What happens in a day can cause you to be happy or struggle. Have you ever been going along just as happy as can be then all of a sudden, someone comes along and says or does something and boom, happiness gone instantly? Anger begins to arise, sometimes even rage, and then if left undealt with can become depression and on and on and on…

Keeping Your Focus
Keeping Your Focus
By Jennifer Flores
Having a positive attitude is a choice that is completely independent on what circumstances you are in. No matter what situation you are in, no matter what level of stress, no matter what difficulties you face; you have the power to keep a positive attitude. It is not always easy, but the power is yours! During this pandemic isolation has been really tough on me. I haven’t been able to spend any real time with my family and have not been very active in things I really enjoy doing. My husband and I both came down with covid and he was out of work for almost a full month.
How to control A
Loved One
How to control A
Loved One
By Treva Susuras
If you have a loved one suffering with life controlling issues, or if you have adult children at all, you know the pain of trying to warn them, or give them advice about what they are doing or about to do, problem is, they don’t listen. Ever try and talk sense to a loved one who is using, or drinking. Nope, not going to happen. How about an adult child, they have the audacity to want to live their own lives and make their own decisions. Good or bad they have that right.

Addiction, Getting to the Root
Addiction, Getting to the Root
By Treva Susuras
As I have said in recent posts, we are in a battle. This is a spiritual battle not physical. Let me make this a little more personal, the devil hates you, his job is to destroy you. He will take what has happened in your past and remind you of it every day. He will make you feel guilty, dirty, and disgusting. But Jesus...

What Is Going On?
What Is Going On?
By Treva Susuras
Well the devil is alive and well today. How do I know that you might ask? Look around, it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure that out. Our enemy the devil roams around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour according to 1 Peter 5:8. Does the world seem a little out of sorts to you or is it just me?

Power of Praise & Worship
Power of Praise & Worship
By Treva Susuras
Today is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
There are many ways to praise the Lord, we can praise Him with our words, with a song, the word says His praise is continually on my lips. You know when we praise the Lord first thing in the morning it sets the stage for the whole day. What we meditate on will dictate our day for us. Wake up feeling down and depressed, bad day. Wake up feeling down and depressed, go into praise and worship, that will change our thoughts, our attitude, give us hope, and joy, set us up for an awesome day...

Holy Spirit Fire
Holy Spirit Fire
By Treva Susuras
Have you ever had moments where you felt like you could take on the world? Like nothing could stop you? When we first accept Jesus into our lives, we are so strong, we believe so much in the power and the presence of the Lord and of the Holy Spirit. It’s like going form no-hope to hope. That’s exciting and then along the way something negative in our lives happens, a life storm, even to Christians, and eventually, we begin to doubt, feel hopeless, and so many other things. We sometimes wonder where did God go? I don’t feel like I once did. Why did He leave me? These by the way are lies for the devil as the word of God says He will never leave us for forsake us. Remember, God doesn’t promise to keep us from having storms, but He promises to walk through them with us...

Free to Choose
By Treva Susuras
In this life we are free to choose. Choose if we want to continue our education, what kind of work we want to do, who we marry or if we marry at all. We can choose to have an abortion if a baby doesn’t fit our circumstances right now, or we can choose to have 5 children. We can choose to live a same sex life style, or have a man and woman relationship. It’s actually up to us if we will live our lives in addiction, or choose to get the help we need to change. And yes, it’s nobody’s business what we decide (although it does affect those around us). It is our personal choice. We are free to choose but we are not free to choose the consequences of our choice…

Never Give up
Never Give up
By Treva Susuras
One of my favorite sayings in life is never give up. You may be struggling with addiction or have a family member that has a problem, but today, this blog is for everyone! I know many of you have heard me say that over and over and I will probably never stop saying it. Because it has meaning in every situation we may be going through.
You might say “my child is in addiction” never give up, keep praying, things can change when Jesus gets involved.
You might say “ I’m in addiction, or a bad relationship, or life issue” I say keep praying never give up, things can change in a minute with Jesus
You might say, “My finances are falling apart and I lost my job” I say never give up!

Step Out of The Darkness
By Treva Susuras
Let me ask you a crazy question, are you the king or queen of denial? Nope it’s not a river in Egypt, it’s a reality in our life we refuse to see. Such as, “ I do not have an addiction problem, I am not stuck in an angry lifestyle, I don’t eat more when I’m upset, or purge after I eat and if I do any of this things it’s not a problem because I can stop any time I want to. I have no idea why I keep finding myself involved in another dysfunctional relationship, or I was born a perfectionist, it’s not a problem.”

A Lie You Believe Is the Truth You Live By
By Treva Susuras
When we grow up, we are taught what to believe about ourselves by the things that happen in our lives, by the word’s others speak over us, or the experiences we encounter. For example, a beautiful young girl can hear how ugly she is and by the time she is grown no matter what she is told, even though she is beautiful, she will believe the lie and live out her life as an ugly duckling...

WORRY,,, ME?
By Treva Susuras
My explanation of worry. When we stress or have anxiety about something in our lives that may or may not happen. Or, something that is happening that we have no control over. Yep, that’s it. Worry, worry, worry.
So much worry can actually keep us from our everyday lives. It can stop us in our tracks...

Not Everyone Wants It?
By Treva Susuras
As I think about today and all the trials and troubles in it I remember the word of God, says to bring all our cares to the Lord because He cares for us. Not long ago my Pastor at my church recognized me to the church as a fighter. I will fight in the spirit and never give up! Then He ask me why? As I think about the question, I remember when I was using drugs and alcohol, I was living in sin and going nowhere. My life was chaotic, and confusing, and my children 2 of them at that time, we scared, and confused. They were not sure they were loved, they were not secure, nor did they feel significant, nor did I. The reason I will never give up is because I have nothing to go back to, and everything o fight for.

Don’t Lose Your Fight
By Treva Susuras
So may time in this life we can be so strong and then all of a sudden, without ever noticing it we realize we have lost our fight. We may be so passionate about our relationship with Jesus, passionate about fighting for what we believe, for our loved ones, and then, boom, the passion is gone. The fight is no longer in us. Then slowly we realize we have given up. Can you relate?
Seems like the devil has put just a drop of poison in our coffee every morning
Who’s Responsible?
By Treva Susuras
Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
Each one of us is responsible for our own walk with Jesus. I’m responsible for me and my actions, and you are responsible for you and your actions. We all make our own way, good or bad, most of our storms in life are consequences of our own actions...
Feeling Lost
By Treva Susuras
The Holiday season is “The Most Wonderful Time of The Year,” right? Sure it can be. But it can also be one of the hardest times of the year for some of us. It is always hard for me because I lost my son, yes, it’s been 20 years ago, but still, when I go to get my now adult children and their families their presents, I always think about the one that is not here.

Who is the Judge anyway?
By Treva Susuras
Here is the thing. We all have opinions, we all see things different, and sometimes we voice our opinions. Have you ever watched someone and thought or even said, “How can that person be that way?” If you have a loved one that struggles with addiction you know what I mean. Sometimes we were the one struggling and got set free! And all of a sudden, we are looking at others that are doing what we were just doing last year and we say, “that person is bla bla bla”

Some Things Never Change , Or Do They
By Treva Susuras
In our everyday lives we tend to fall into whatever our lives have taught us up to this point. We learn from our past. Sometimes we learn to change things and sometimes we learn to keep doing the things that don’t work just to survive and because it’s all we know. Sometimes we even fall into habits that are unhealthy for us. Have you ever heard the old saying if we keep doing what we have always done we will keep getting what we have always gotten?

I'm Feeling Weak
By Treva Susuras
If you are in addiction or you are the family member of a person in addiction, you need to have support of some kind. It’s very important to know you are not alone. The enemy will try to tell you lies. You can’t believe him. The only thing you should be believing is Jesus is there for you, forever! He works in ways we do not understand. We have no way of knowing what is in store for us. We must learn to trust Him in order to live a life of victory. This is a battle. One we can win if we know who and what we are fighting and how to overcome.
