Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Some Things Never Change Or Do They?
Some Things Never Change Or Do They?
For instance, in my past I was raised by a father that was an alcoholic and my mother was on nerve pills just to deal with all of us. By the time I was 13 I had already learned that alcohol and pills were what we do to deal with life. I knew nothing about Jesus or God. I had no morels, I was selfish, self-centered and spoiled. Life was what was teaching me. I know it sounds kind-of crazy but I had no boundaries. On drugs by 13, pregnant by 16, 4 abortions, and 4 marriages later I found the answer to all my problems.
I felt like life hated me, God (if there was one) hated me and hell sounded good to me. Falling into addiction and many, many strongholds, caused me to be hopeless. I had nothing to hope in, hope for, look forward to, I stayed partied up as I used to say. I could go on and on with how bad things were. I also had 3 children in my wild life, and by the time my 4th child came along I started to look around and notice that not all people lived life like I did. Some had good lives and peace in their homes. I kept doing all the things I had done in the past. That was what I knew to do.
Then when I met my 4th husband, he began to teach me a new way of life. One I had never heard of before. He introduced me to Jesus and I began to have hope. I saw that there were others that had a past like mine and were living a happy life now. It is hard to change; I will not lie. To change our way of life, the only life we know, but it can be done.
Jesus says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 we are a new creation in Him. The old has passed away and the new has come. But I know we don’t just wake up and say okay, we are new and then poof we are changed. No, we will have to work on it for a while. Are you up to it? I wonder if you are sick enough of the life you are living to make a change? I never knew a comfort like the comfort Jesus gives us when we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. That’s step one. Step 2 is to make some changes in our everyday life. Getting to know the Lord on a personal level is another step.
All of a sudden, we find ourselves with a little hope. We begin to look forward to things. We begin to have some faith and work towards the changes we need to make. I am not the same person I was before Christ. I have so much life in me, I can get up each day full of joy and hope. Are you suffering? Do you need help? Please let us know. We will be glad to help you! The ball is in your park right now. Do You Want to Change? Are You Willing to Make the Changes to Make It Happen? Do You Want Hope And Joy?
