Founding Minister &  Director

I am an ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have served in ministry for over 30 years. God has given me a vision for the hurting and hopeless—for those battling addiction and for their families who suffer alongside them. In His Hands Ministries of Texas was founded with the desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus, offering hope, healing, and restoration through His love.

I graduated from Calvary Theological Seminary in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree and hold certification in Biblical Counseling. My calling is deeply personal. I know from experience that because Jesus Christ lives, there is always hope and the power for true transformation. I was once lost and broken—trapped in addiction and heading down a dark path—but through God’s grace and the faithfulness of my husband, Doug, who led me to the Lord, my life was forever changed.

For seven years, I served in a faith-based residential recovery program as a pastor, intake coordinator, education coordinator, program coordinator, and eventually as director. During that time, I witnessed countless lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. People once deemed hopeless came alive again when given love, guidance, and a second chance.

God’s plan for my life is clear—to bring hope to women struggling with life-controlling issues and to give them the opportunity to experience lasting change through Christ. The vision He placed in my heart years ago is now coming to life through In His Hands Ministries of Texas.

“Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.”
— Micah 7:8

Treasurer

Meet Jennifer: Jennifer plays an essential role in supporting the ministry’s daily operations. She assists with budgeting and financial organization, teaches and ministers to the women in the program, and provides valuable support to staff. Her dedication and servant’s heart reflect the mission and values of In His Hands Ministries of Texas.

"God has been so good to me. I had gotten myself in a really dark place. I made some bad decisions that were taking my life nowhere but misery. God used a great ministry to bring me into a relationship with Him. He turned my life around and gave me a life that I could have never dreamed of. I’m so blessed and I want to help others learn about the loving God that can restore and heal His children."

Philippians 4:13

Our Team

God has truly blessed us with a wonderful team! The Lord knew I couldn’t do everything alone, so He brought together a group of women who are like-minded, loving, and dedicated to making a difference in the world. Each one serves with compassion, kindness, and a shared vision for the mission of In His Hands Ministries of Texas.

We believe that God is calling His children to awaken and prepare—not for a physical battle, but for a spiritual one. At IHHM, we are on the front lines, fighting for the souls of those who are lost and broken. God is raising up an army, and we are humbled and grateful to be part of that army.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.”
— Isaiah 60:1–2

If you feel led to join this mission, we invite you to visit our Careers and Volunteer Page to learn more about how you can be part of what God is doing through IHHM.

House Mom
Living with & instructing ladies in the program
Natalie Lajas.jpg

Meet Natalie. Natalie is responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and Christ-centered environment within the home. She provides spiritual guidance, daily supervision, and emotional support to the women, helping them grow in faith and responsibility. Her duties include overseeing daily routines, enforcing house rules, managing chores and meal times, monitoring medications, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and order of the home. She serves as a role model of love, integrity, and consistency—offering encouragement, accountability, and prayer—while communicating regularly with leadership about the needs and progress of each resident.

Hello, my name is Natalie, and I am the House Mother at IHHM. For as long as I can remember the enemy has been against my identity in Christ. I was abandoned at birth and adopted into what felt like a loveless home. The enemy came against my confidence and self-worth and even attacked me as a woman with confusion. I was walking on the path of death and despair and right on time, I met Jesus, the light of my salvation and the lover of my soul. He rescued me with his mighty right hand and pulled me out of the darkness and into his marvelous LIGHT. Jesus restored life to my dry and weary bones. He restored everything the enemy stole from me and then some. He taught me what it meant to BELONG to HIM. My identity as HIS child has been restored and I can now walk in confidence and with my head held high knowing I am DEEPLY LOVED.  I know I am called by God to help women find who they are again by the POWER and LOVE of JESUS CHRIST!

Romans 8:38 And I am convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

Intern

Living with and instructing the ladies in the program, Assistant to the house mom

Introducing Kristin: Our amazing intern is on an exciting journey training for ministry at the ministry house! She enthusiastically assists the house mom and radiates positivity with her cheerful smile. Kristin excels at connecting with the students and takes charge of our engraving and various craft projects with incredible efficiency. We're lucky to have her on our team!

After 25 years of drug addiction, bad decisions, and choosing to walk in my wicked ways, I found myself drowning in a sea of great sorrow and insurmount circumstances. I encountered God's transformative love, and I am forever changed. I surrendered my heart, my will, and ways in return for His heart, His will, and His ways. He saved me. I have been sober for 2 years, and all glory belongs to God. I traded my pain and brokenness for peace, joy, and true love. You, Lord, for involving me in Your perfect!
