Right now, I feel like we all need a little faith. You know something we can stand on and believe in.  I’d like to take the time today to talk to you about faith. You know, believing in something you can’t see.

First of all, faith is knowing the word of God and believing it. If you know what the word says then you will know what to stand on. The word tells us that if we have the faith of a mustard seed, we can move mountains. That we will do greater things that Jesus did. How do we do that. We read the bible and apply it to our lives. The word is a powerful weapon. The promises of God are not just to read, they are facts. Fact is, the promises God has written down in the word are facts or promises He has given us Himself. Faith is when we read those facts and believe them, and stand on them. Even When it looks impossible, we know God said it so it must be true. Now the word also says that faith without works is dead. So that must mean there will be times we have to do something for our faith to grow and work in our lives.

Say for instance, you are believing God to deliver your child from addiction or sin:

Proverbs 22:6 - Fact

Train up a child in the way he should go and when he grows old, he will not depart from it.

Works: train him up in the Lord

Fact: when he grows old, he will not depart form it.

I’m not saying that if you have not trained him up in knowing Jesus, as many of us did not because we ourselves were not believers yet, that they won’t be saved. But if you did and you know they are not living for Jesus rest assured they will come back. Fact! The faith part is waiting and believing because it is what God said so it is truth.

Or what about when you look around this world and in America. It begins to feel pretty hopeless doesn’t it? Will let’s see what the Lord says about it.

2 Chronicles 7:14 -Fact

If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves, and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Pretty simple right, well not always. First, we have to take the time to look it up in the word, then we have to do something about it. You know make an effort. Do you want God to heal our land?

Then you must do the works. The word says if we:

•Humble ourselves

•Pray

•Seek the face of God

•Turn from our wicked ways

Fact is:

•He will hear from heaven

•Forgive our sin

•Heal our land

Everything we need to know is in the word of God. Look it up if you have any questions. Faith is promises of God or facts we believe just because Jesus said it and we wait for the manifestation of that promise.

God said it – Fact

Jesus said it – Fact

Believe it, and wait for it- Faith

Matthew 18:18 says, whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven, fact

Philippians 4:13 says, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength, fact

Romans 8:28 says, and we know that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord, fact

Galatians 7:8 says, what you sow you will reap. Sow good seed and you will reap a harvest. Fact

Look up God’s promises, apply them to your life. Make a list of the promises you are claiming and read them every day. If there is an “if you” and a “then” make sure you are doing the “if you”.

Do you know what the bible says about things? There is one way to find out. Read it! Apply it to your life. Please don’t argue about things you don’t know. If you haven’t read it you don’t know for sure, so be sure and find out the facts.
