Free To Choose

In this life we are free to choose. Choose if we want to continue our education, what kind of work we want to do, who we marry or if we marry at all. We can choose to have an abortion if a baby doesn’t fit our circumstances right now, or we can choose to have 5 children. We can choose to live a same sex life style, or have a man and woman relationship. It’s actually up to us if we will live our lives in addiction, or choose to get the help we need to change. And yes, it’s nobody’s business what we decide (although it does affect those around us). It is our personal choice. We are free to choose but we are not free to choose the consequences of our choice… and there it is. It’s our choice to choose whatever we like, but what we choose will have consequences, good or bad, one way or another. We need to make our choices wisely because one way or another it will come back to us.

Our destiny is a direct result of the choices you make. Life is a matter of choices and every choice you make, makes you.

The heart breaker is I know so many ladies and love them with all my heart, hopefully some of you are reading this right now, but anyway, you may have been an addict in the past but are doing great right now. Then boom, trouble hits, you know the devil is always going to offer you a way out by putting the very thing you are addicted to right in your path. He wants you to be under his authority not Jesus. He tests you and temps you. Maybe it’s not addiction, maybe it’s another life issue. See James 1:12

What decision or choice are you trying to make right now? Where to live? What town? To stay in a relationship or not? To live a lifestyle pleasing to God or please yourself or walk in the flesh? To take that one last drink, drug, hit, whatever? What will be the affects of your choices? Because you may not care right now but you will later when you realize you messed up. You may mess up even though you do look at your choices wisely, but not near as much as if you base your choices on feeding your flesh for your own comfort. You see, the choice you make can give you joy and peace or a life of confusion and destruction. Please don’t think you will ever walk in peace and joy as long as you continue to do things that put you in a position of compromise, regret, or anything that comes between you and Jesus. Remember sin will always cause you to draw back from Jesus. When we do something, we know Jesus would not want us to we feel guilty and draw back away form Him but in reality, we should be running to Him, confessing our sin and asking Him for forgiveness. No matter how many times.

See Proverbs 28:13

I minister to those in addiction and also to their families but let me tell you that addiction can be any life controlling issue. If you are doing things you don’t want to do and can’t stop, well I’d say there is a problem. You see addiction is not just, “I want to get high, or I just like to drink” not if we are trying to stop and can’t. Even when we can’t get our eating under control. That’s a big problem. OK now, ask yourself, “what is it that I need to change about myself but can’t seem to do it.” Something you struggle with. How about anger, bad mood swings. You may be thinking, well yes, I have that, but it’s not a problem… well I can bet someone living with you or that you are around all the time would not agree with the, not a problem part. It may not be a problem to you but you can bet it is a problem for them. If we can see ourselves for who we really are and what we are really doing, we can change ourselves. This can set us free from addiction, overeating, painful or wrong choices. We Are like an onion, and we need to peel our lives a little at a time. We may live with painful memories. We may have grown up feel unloved, unwanted, We might need inner healing, we may need to see our worth though the eyes of Jesus. If we try and change the way we think, and live and act, I promise, things will begin to change around us. I think one of the most dangerous things we can do is put ourselves in a place of testing because we are sure we can resist it. You can’t resist the devil and please him at the same time. So, when we make our next choice a good question to ask yourself is, “will it please Jesus or the devil?” Then consider the consequences or your choice… Then make your decision. Then live with that decision because you made the choice on your own! No one made you. You can’t say well if that then this. You can’t blame others for the choices YOU make. No, make sure you think about what you are about to do because you will have to live with the consequences. I am giving you a way out right now of whatever you are living with and in misery.
