Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Worrier or Warrior?
Worrier or Warrior?
By Treva Susuras
Right here, right now, make a decision, am I a worrier or a warrior? As Christians, we need to figure that out. The great thing about all this is that Jesus is our leader. We either trust Him or we don’t.
A worrier us a person that thinks in some way they can make things happen in a situation, or solve their own problems, that in reality, there is nothing they can do.
When we worry it is our mind racing around searching for a solution to a problem or problems.
First, we need to figure out, is this something I can change or fix? Or is this out of my hands and I need to turn it over to God?
Once we figure that out, we can start to figure out what our part is.
If we can fix it, we need to. But if we can’t do anything about it ourselves, we need to give it to God. He is the one and only that can fix anything going on in our lives. The word tells us to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us in 1 Peter 5:7.
We sure can’t change things by worrying anyways.
Do you realize that worrying about things just keeps us from seeing the positive in every situation? A lot of the time we are worried about things that may not even happen. This can cause us to act in ways that are negative. Problem is, it is the problem that has taken over our minds and that is all we can think about. By then we can’t even see the hope. We become anxious.
Do you have any idea how many people struggle with anxiety? Wow, and the sad part is that what they may be anxious about may never happen anyway. They spend all their time having anxiety about things that are not real. Things that they are afraid will happen, that never end up happening. Wasted time…
You see the enemy roams around like a roaring lion seeking to devour… 1 Peter 5:6
But what does God say about worry and anxiety? Number one he says not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow has its own troubles. Matthew 6:34
He also says in Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Aww, so prayer, petition, and thanksgiving will bring us closer to the answer. Remember God does not promise to deliver us from everything in our lives we don’t like, but he promises to walk us through the toughest situations. He promises to never leave us or forsake us.
He gives us peace that is beyond understanding. SOOO, the answer is, don’t get lost in worry, thinking about it day and night, don’t worry about tomorrow. Another words, just get through one day at a time. You never know, everything can change in a moments time.
Don’t waste your blessings worrying about your problems. Before you know it, the problems will take all your thoughts and you won’t be able to remember what God HAS done for you or is doing in your life right now.
Trust God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, and He will direct your path.
Things are not hopeless, they are hopeful! Easy to say difficult to do. Yes, I agree, when we have lived our life in worry and negativity, it is hard to change that. But remember all things are possible for those who love the lord!
Worrier = a person that spends a lot of time thinking about problems
