Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Who is the Judge anyway?
Who is the Judge anyway?
Who is the Judge anyway?
Here is the thing. We all have opinions, we all see things different, and sometimes we voice our opinions. Have you ever watched someone and thought or even said, “How can that person be that way?” If you have a loved one that struggles with addiction you know what I mean. Sometimes we were the one struggling and got set free! And all of a sudden, we are looking at others that are doing what we were just doing last year and we say, “that person is bla bla bla”
For several years I worked in a Christian residential recovery program for women with life problems. One thing for sure is that there is no level of person. Some of the ladies I have ministered to will remember me saying, “if you strip us all naked no one will know us apart.” What I mean by that is you won’t see our clothes, our jewelry, our wallet, or our makeup. You won’t be able to tell who is staff from the last person to be on the street. To look, you can’t who is the minister and is the prostitute. Point is we all look the same if you strip us of everything and leave us naked.
That is the way God sees us. All the things we do and don’t do, all the accomplishments and failures, He doesn’t care. He looks at us in our heart. He wants to know what our heart desires. Do we go after the things of God, or the things of man?
Then there is judgment. After Jesus accepts us, changes us and sets us free, do we look down on those that have not been set free yet. When we look at someone else do we judge them? Do we separate ourselves form them, I don’t mean physically, because sometimes we have to separate from people that will drag us down or back into our problems we struggle with. What I mean is separate as in I’m free now so I’m better than they are.
How about Christians. Now that you are a Christian, does that give you the right to look down on others? I hear so many things on FB and social media, that person is not really saved, or people in church are… that Christian music is from the devil. Let me tell you, the devil is never going to be responsible for the presence of the Holy Spirit moving in your life. He hates you, me and the Holy Spirit. BUT what he (devil) will do is cause you to look at others and size them up according to what you think about them. Matthew 13 talks about the wheat and the tares. The wheat are the true believers and the tares are those that are fake. They all grow together, but in the end the wheat and the tares will be separated by the farmer. It’s the same with us. How do we know or decide who is who? Well praise God we don’t have to. All we have to do is learn the Word of God, teach the word of God and live the word of God. In the end God will separate the wheat from the tares. There is no way for us to know and be able to separate them. We need to make sure we are wheat not tares. Another word STOP JUDGING OTHERS! Let God do that, it’s God’s job not ours. Sometimes we judge our loved ones when we are doing things just as bad.
So, to end this blog (a little different than usual) WE need to be praying for others not judging them. Pulling them up, not taring them down. Our mouth is a powerful thing. Let’s use it for good. Let’s use it for God! Have a blessed day!
