Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

What Are The Devil's Tools?
What Are The Devil's Tools?
By Treva Susuras
Yesterday, at church My pastor began his sermon with that question. What tools does the devil use to take us down? Makes sense that we would want to know that because we should know our enemy and his plans so we can divert them. His answer to that question was
1.Fear
2.Doubt
3.3 unbelief
4.Isolation
5.Lies
6.Being ignorant of God’s word
7.Unforgiveness
8.Suffering through difficult times
Well today I’d like to talk about 2 of these. Isolation and doubt. I believe those are very important tools the devil uses. They all work for his plan but I believe these are the ones main ones he’s using on us today. You see if he can isolate us from other believers, he can put thought of regret, and shame in our minds. Remember, he can’t read our mind but he can put thoughts in there and its up to us to take every thought captive.
If he can get us on an island by ourselves, he can plant hopelessness in our hearts. Think about it. Right now, we are not able to assemble ourselves together. When we are alone there is no one to lift us up when were down. We begin to feel so alone. The suicide rate has gone sky high since the pandemic.
What if we are ones left in an abusive relationship? No where to turn, no one to help. Can’t get out. I have been in a relationship like that before in my life and there was no pandemic, I could get out but still felt scared, and I stayed because of that. I finally left after two years of being beat up on a regular basis. I began to believe it was my fault, like something was wrong with me and that’s why I was getting beat. But that is another story for another time.
When we are all alone or in an unhealthy relationship, (not to mention the children) it can be devastating and hopeless. And if we have ever been drug users, or any other addiction, being separated from our church family and mentors can be devastating. It can lead us right back into the addictive behavior we conquered already.
Before you know it, you start to believe God doesn’t care about what your going through. There is no one to lift you up. There is no corporate prayer to go to and no laying on of hands in prayer.
We can’t even see someone smile at us right now. A smile even if it’s from a stranger can change your day. But with our masks on we tend to feel alone.
There are some right now in a healthy relationship, a great family, but the responsibilities of working from home and homeschooling your children is overwhelming.
I guess the point of this blog is, don’t let the devil get to you. You are not alone the Lord will never leave you or forsake you. Find a church that is having service, follow the rules of your state but find your mentor, church family, a friend, someone to talk to, someone that will lift you up. God is not done with us yet.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says
9 Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
